Planned Additions
- Constructing these pages can be rather time consuming (though
fun!). Therefore I have only put here what I could construct in a
reasonable amount of time. At a later date I hope to add search
utilities to make it more useful. Also, the map figure will soon
be available via GDB.
-
- Here are some ideas I have for how to enhance the genetic map
pages. Please let me know if you have other suggestions for I can
make the pages more useful.
- Listing of cytogenetic localizations for markers where this
information is known and reliable. Add this same information to
the graphical map figure.
- A search utility that allows you to enter one or more marker
names and returns a listing of all pages that marker is listed on.
- A search utility that lets you enter a marker name and returns
its map position (you can get this information now by first
finding the marker in a marker-info page and clicking on its map
position.)
- A search utility that lets you select a map interval by
choosing two markers that are on the backbone map and returns the
names of all off-backbone markers whose 1000:1 odds support
interval includes the specified backbone interval.
- A utility that lets you enter a subset of ordered markers and
returns the inter-marker distances for that set. The ordered
markers may come from the backbone (where order is clear) or may
be any set you choose. In the latter case you assume
responsibility for entering a correct marker order.
- A utility that lets you enter a small set of markers in a
putative map order and checks whether this order is the most
likely order of the set of markers. This would be done using a
FLIPS analysis which compares the likelihood of the given map
order against several closely related map orders.
