Sources of Markers and Genotypes used for Genetic Mapping

95% of the PCR markers were developed and genotyped by investigators at Genethon, the Cooperative Human Linkage Center (CHLC), and the Eccles Institute for Human Genetics (EIHG). Markers from the EIHG I call "Utah" markers. Each of these groups both develops markers and constructs maps, which you can find on their individual Web pages. The remainder, as well as the genes and hybridization-based markers come from various sources, which I have not identified here due to time constraints. Additional information about each marker can easily be found on its corresponding GDB Web page and I have provided links to the GDB pages from my 'marker information' tables.

The bulk of the genotypes were obtained from the CEPH database, version 8.0. A handful of markers are from earlier versions of CEPH.
