My Son has 46,XY,der(1)t(1;)(p36.21;?). In short, a deletion of
the distal portion of the short arm of chromosome 1. He has severe
oral apraxia and motor delays. I'm seeking any information on this
disease to help my son live his life to the fullest. He is in OT, PT,
and Speech therapies. He signs as his main form of communication,
however, we are getting a dynavox communication board for him. He is
so willing to learn but needs special help. Am I missing something I
could be doing to help him? What is his future? He is 7 years old and
a joy. Please write with any information!!
Thanks,
Beth

I recently had a 39 years old patient who decided to
make legal abortion after a genetic amniocentesis
on te 16th week of pregnancy. The abnormality was
a translocation (1,y) with delection of several portions
of chromosome 1 and two Y chromosomes. I whould apreciate
further information about Chromosome 1 delections.
