CHROMOSOME 1 MAILING LIST DESCRIPTION


The mailing list chr1_list is maintained by Pete White at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Tara Matise at Rutgers University.

chr1_list is an email list for the discussion and presentation of information regarding human chromosome 1. This list serves members of the genome mapping community specifically interested in mapping, cloning, and sequencing portions of chromosome 1. Specific topics of discussion include:

* Clones, markers, and sequence that map to chromosome 1.
* Construction of genetic, radiation hybrid, FISH, and physical maps of chromosome 1.
* Discussion and dissemination of mapping and sequencing data.
* Genes and genetic diseases mapping to chromosome 1.
* Comparative mapping of regions syntenic to human chromosome 1 in other organisms
* Reagents and resources applicable to chromosome 1 mapping and sequencing.
* Informatics tools and software for chromosome 1 analysis.
* Internet resources for chromosome analysis and display.
* Discussion of the chromosome 1 World Wide Web pages.
