The CRI-MAP program has been in general use since 1987 and has been extremely well tested. The MAP-O-MAT Web site simply automates the use of the CRI-MAP program so users do not have to install it locally, nor do they have to obtain the genotype data. However, it is well known that there are some errors in the genotypes, and that many markers have been scored in only a small number of pedigrees. Also, linkage mapping is a statistical procedure which does not guarantee accurate results. Therefore, linkage mapping does have some limits. So, please be aware that the results returned from this server are only as accurate as the data and analyses allow.

In addition, we have made every effort to provide documentation to allow proper interpretation of the results. Therefore, we are not responsible for any misintepretation of results that may lead to false conclusions. Please contact us should you find any of our "results interpretation" documents unclear, insufficient, or misleading.
