devQTL Aims

Objective

To establish a high-throughput bioinformatics approach to identify candidate genes for the Modvl loci. There are 4 specific aims.

Aim 1:  To identify genes within the Modvl 95% confidence intervals (CIs) expressed at particular developmental stages.

Aim 2:  To determine which of these developmentally expressed genes are localized to the developing CNS and eye.

Aim 3:  To identify coding polymorphisms in these CNS- and eye-restricted transcripts and determine whether they are predicted to be functional.

Aim 4:  To demonstrate these developmentally restricted transcripts are associated with pathways relevant to neural tube closure and lens development.
